Frequently Asked Questions
Which diagram do I need if I do not know what the part is called?
Start here. The main assembly shows the machine as four or five large pieces; find the area your part sits in, then open that sub-diagram — chassis, brush and spray head, tank, control panel or pump — from the parts hub.
The shroud is stiff or binds when it pivots. What fixes that?
The shroud pivot bushing. It is a wear part, it dries out and goes oval, and a worn bushing lets the shroud sit at a slight angle which wears the base plate gasket unevenly. Replacing the bushing is a far cheaper fix than replacing what it damages.
Is the 1-1/2″ recovery hose the same as the 2″ hose on the chassis diagram?
No — they are different parts. This one is 1-1/2″ x 42″ with cuffs; the chassis diagram carries a 2″ x 38″ hose with no cuffs. Order by part number from the table below so you do not end up with the wrong diameter.
Can I buy the brush/spray assembly complete?
It is listed as a complete assembly on this diagram. Whether it is currently stocked as an assembly or built up from the brush diagram parts varies — call 763-535-0770 and we will tell you which is available and which is the better value for your repair.
Browse every assembly for this machine on the Tornado 98168 parts hub, or call 763-535-0770 and we will identify your part from the serial number. Twin City Vacuum, 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428.
