Brush Switch 39346
$6.99
Genuine OEM brush switch (part# 39346) for the Tornado CK 14/2 Pro, model 98152, and the Powr-Flite Borelli Dual Pro. Call 763-535-0770.
The Brush Switch (part# 39346) controls the brush motor independently of the suction motor on the Tornado CK 14/2 Pro, model 98152, and the Powr-Flite Borelli Dual Pro (PV160-W14-U).
Separate brush control is a practical feature rather than a luxury on a dual-motor machine. It lets an operator run suction with the agitator stopped — over a bare floor, across a rug fringe, or around cables — without stopping the machine. Because of that it gets switched several times on a typical route, which is why it wears at a different rate from the main power switch and why it is catalogued separately.

Diagnosing it
The usual failure is gradual: the brush needs the switch pressed twice, or it cuts out when the handle is jolted, and the operator works around it. Both mean the contacts are arcing, and arcing contacts get worse rather than better.
Before condemning the switch, rule out the two cheaper causes of a stopped brush: a stretched or broken poly-V belt (B350-2514), and a tripped circuit breaker (39339) after a jam. If the belt is good, the breaker holds and the brush still will not run, the switch is the next thing to test. Work on it unplugged, and if the terminals show browning or melted insulation, cut the conductor back to bright copper before re-terminating.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which machines does this switch fit?
The Tornado CK 14/2 Pro, model 98152, and the Powr-Flite Borelli Dual Pro (PV160-W14-U).
What is it for?
It turns the brush motor on and off independently of suction, so an operator can keep vacuuming over bare floor, a rug fringe or cables without the agitator running.
The brush will not run. Is it the switch?
Check the poly-V belt B350-2514 and the circuit breaker 39339 first – a stretched belt and a trip after a jam are both more common. If both are good and the brush still will not run, test the switch.
