Lower Top Cover Kit 39251

This is the lower top cover kit shared by the Tornado TV 2 SS dry canister and the Simplicity Brio. It is the lower half of the two-piece top assembly — the upper half is a separate part number, and on the TV 2 SS that upper cover is model-specific while this lower one is common to both machines.

What the Lower Top Cover Kit Does

The top cover is the lid of the canister: it closes over the bag and filter compartment and carries the latching that holds everything shut while the machine is under suction. If it does not close squarely the machine leaks air at the join, and a canister that leaks at the lid loses suction at the nozzle without anything looking obviously wrong.

Where It Sits on the Machine

It forms the lower part of the top assembly, above the tank, shown on the TV 2 SS main assembly diagram directly below the upper top cover kit.

Compatible Models for the Lower Top Cover Kit

• Tornado TV 2 SS Dry Canister Vacuum — Model 93282
• Simplicity Brio Canister Vacuum

This is one part shared by both machines, so you are ordering the same component whichever you own. Not sure which you have? Call us at 763-535-0770 and we will confirm it.

When to Replace It

Replace it when it is cracked, when a latch point has broken, or when the lid no longer pulls down evenly onto the tank. These machines get carried by the lid and dropped on their tops, so impact damage here is common in commercial use.

Fitting Notes

Check how the upper and lower covers locate together before separating them, and check the tank’s sealing face while the top is off — a cracked lower cover often comes with a scored or dirty seal face that will stop a new cover sealing properly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the same as the upper top cover kit?

No. The lower top cover kit is 39251 and the upper is 39250. They are separate Tacony part numbers and separate halves of the top assembly. The upper cover fits the Tornado TV 2 SS only; this lower one is shared with the Simplicity Brio.

My machine seems to have lost suction but the bag is clean. What now?

Check where the lid meets the tank. A cracked cover or a damaged latch lets the lid sit proud, and the machine then draws air at the join instead of through the nozzle. Close the lid and feel around the joint with the machine running.
