$2.99
Genuine Tacony OEM Tool Belt Clip with Retainer (part# X1241) — waist belt clip, two per machine, for Tornado Pac-Vac 6 and 10 Aircomfort and Pac-Vac 6 Roam, and Powr-Flite Comfort Pro backpacks. In stock in Crystal, MN. Call 763-535-0770.
The Tool Belt Clip X1241, supplied complete with its retainer, is a genuine Tacony OEM harness part shared across Tornado and Powr-Flite backpack vacuums. Two are fitted per machine, and they are what attach the waist belt to the harness frame. On a commercial backpack that is not a convenience fitting: the waist belt is how a loaded 6 or 10 quart machine is carried on the hips instead of hanging off the shoulders, and these two clips are the entire connection.
They fail from load and from age. The moulded clip cracks, or the retainer that locks the belt into it wears, breaks or goes missing, and the belt starts pulling free under load. The complaint that reaches the counter is rarely “my clip broke” — it is an operator saying the machine has suddenly got heavy, or that it is all on their shoulders now, or that the belt keeps coming undone. Check both clips and both retainers whenever a backpack comes in for service, and replace any that are cracked, that no longer latch positively, or that let the belt slip when you pull on it.

Fitting the Tool Belt Clip X1241
The clip is reference 37 in the Tornado Pac-Vac parts book, sitting between the two shoulder rivets at 36 and 38 on the harness. It is supplied with its retainer, so you are fitting a complete assembly rather than trying to reuse an old catch. Work with the harness off the machine so you can see both sides, feed the belt the same way round as the original, and check the retainer latches positively before the harness goes back on — pull hard on the belt, because a clip that only half-latches will let go the first time someone leans into it. Inspect the shoulder rivets (A352-9401 and A352-9402) and the harness frame (34861) at the same time. Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado and Powr-Flite equipment since 1956. Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Tool Belt Clip (part# X1241) do on a Tacony backpack vacuum?
It is the moulded clip, supplied with its retainer, that holds the waist belt to the harness frame. Two are used per machine. They are what transfer the weight of a loaded backpack off the shoulders and onto the operator’s hips, which is the whole point of a waist belt on a commercial backpack.
How do I know if my Tool Belt Clip needs replacing?
Replace it if the clip is cracked, if the retainer is missing or will no longer hold, or if the belt pulls free of the clip under load. The complaint that leads you here is usually an operator saying the machine is suddenly heavy or that all the weight is on their shoulders – a belt that has come off one clip does exactly that.
What models is the Tool Belt Clip (part# X1241) compatible with?
Tornado Pac-Vac 6 Aircomfort 93012 and 93012B, Pac-Vac 10 Aircomfort 93014 and 93014B, and Pac-Vac 6 Roam 93016, 93016B-1 and 93016C-1; and Powr-Flite Comfort Pro backpacks BP6P, BP6S and BP10P plus the Comfort Pro Freedom CPF6P-1C.
How many do I need?
Two per machine. They are sold individually. If one has failed the other is usually the same age and has taken the same load, so most technicians replace the pair.
