Upper Cord Hook B431-4814

$1.99

Genuine OEM upper cord hook (part# B431-4814) for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC. Call 763-535-0770.

The Upper Cord Hook (part# B431-4814) is the top of the two hooks the power cord is wrapped around on the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 (115V) and 97131 (230V), and on the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

Cord hooks look like the least important part on a vacuum and are among the most frequently ordered, because they are the part that gets used dozens of times a shift and the part that gets hit first when the machine goes over. The upper hook in particular takes the whole weight of a fifty-foot cord being slung on at speed, and once the moulding cracks at its root the cord slips off mid-wrap and ends up on the floor, where it gets run over.

Why it matters more than it looks

A machine with a broken cord hook does not stop working, so it stays in service and the cord stops being wrapped properly. That is how a $2 part turns into an $83 power cord: an unwrapped cord drags, gets caught in the brush roll, and takes damage at the plug end. If the hook on one of your machines is gone, replace it now rather than at the next service, and check the front hook and the lower clip while you are there.

Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 with your model and serial number and we will confirm the part before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which machines does this hook fit?

The Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, models 97130 and 97131, and the Powr-Flite PF62EC.

Is this the upper or the lower hook?

This is the upper hook, part number B431-4814. The front cord hook is B431-4914 and the lower cord clip is B431-4114B. They are different mouldings and are not interchangeable.

Do I need a tool to change it?

Very little. The hook comes off the handle tube with the retaining screw removed. The fiddly part is freeing the cord, not the hook itself.
