The Washer (part# 11385) is a genuine Tacony OEM #10 sealing washer used on the Tornado CK 3030 wide-area vacuum (Model 93030) across Series E, F, G, H and J, and on the. the most widely carried washer in this machine&rsquo, s parts list. Fits Tornado 93030, Tornado 93031, CleanMax CM-WAV and Powr-Flite PF2030.
A sealing washer is not the same thing as the plain flat washers used elsewhere here. It carries a bonded or moulded sealing face so that, as the fastener is tightened, it closes the gap around the fastener rather than just spreading load. On a vacuum that depends on a sealed air path from nozzle to bag, a fastener passing through a wall of the airway is a potential leak, and this washer is what stops it being one.
That makes it a genuine service item rather than generic hardware. The sealing face hardens and takes a set with age and heat, and once it has, the joint leaks even though the screw is tight. Replace it whenever the fastener is removed, and never substitute a plain flat washer of the same bore — it will clamp perfectly well and seal nothing, which is the kind of fault that shows up as unexplained loss of suction long after the repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Washer (part# 11385) do on the Tornado 93030?
Fitted under a fastener that passes through the airway, it seals around the fastener as the joint is tightened so air is not drawn in at that point, as well as spreading the clamping load.
Can I use a plain flat washer instead of 11385?
No. A plain washer of the same bore will clamp the joint but will not seal it, and an air leak on the suction side quietly reduces pickup at the nozzle. This is one of the places on the machine where the exact washer specified matters.
How do I know if my Washer (part# 11385) needs replacing?
Replace it whenever the fastener has been removed, and any time the sealing face has hardened, cracked, flattened or separated from the metal body. Suction that has fallen off with a clean bag and a clear hose is worth tracing to leaks at fastenings like this one.
