Tornado 98220 attachments for the PS Series professional spotter, Model 98220 — what the machine ships with and what you can add. Can’t find your part? Call us at 763-535-0770.
This page has no exploded diagram, because the factory sheet it comes from is not one. It is a short table, and the table itself carries the most useful information on the whole sheet: which tool arrives with the machine and which ones you buy.
Included with the machine, and what is optional
The Tornado 98220 is listed by the factory as the PS Spotter at 55 P.S.I., 2 gallons, with hose and hand tool. That hand tool is part# 30744, the 3-1/2″ utility tool supplied as one assembly with its combined vacuum and pressure hose. It is the only item on this sheet that comes with the machine. Order it when the original has been damaged, worn out or lost, or when a used machine turns up without one.
Everything else here is an addition you choose.
The one thing to get right before ordering a tool
Tornado prints it on the sheet itself, and it is easy to skip: the 8 ft. vacuum and pressure hose, part# 95560, is required in order to use the optional tools.
That is not an upsell. The hose supplied with the machine is sized for close hand-tool work at the machine, and the factory states that the optional tools need the high-performance hose instead. It does not say why, and we are not going to invent a reason — but order a wand on its own and it arrives unusable. If you are extending what this spotter can do, the longer hose is the first purchase, not an afterthought.
What the optional items add
The drag wand changes how the machine is worked rather than what it can reach: head on a long tube, trigger at the handle, operator standing and walking the head backwards instead of crouched over a hand tool. On open carpet that is both faster and more even — a wand drawn at a steady rate lays down and lifts solution consistently, where hand work tends to overwet one spot and under-extract the next. Note that we quote no head size for it; three factory sources disagree, and the accessories page explains why and how to settle it.
The steel transport handle kit is not a cleaning tool at all — it is the replacement handle the machine is carried and wheeled by, supplied with its mounting hardware and specified by Tornado as customer installed.
Three of the four rows below are parts that also appear elsewhere in this machine’s parts book, and they link to those same listings rather than to duplicates: the 8 ft. hose is also on the vac/pressure hose page, and the drag wand and handle kit are both on the accessories and consumables page, where the wand’s own service parts — nozzle, jet and valve — are listed too. One part number, one listing.

Tornado 98220 Attachments Frequently Asked Questions
What tool comes with the Tornado 98220?
The 3-1/2 in. utility tool and its combined vacuum and pressure hose, supplied as one assembly, part# 30744. Tornado lists the machine as the PS Spotter at 55 P.S.I. and 2 gallons with hose and hand tool, and 30744 is the only item on the attachments sheet in the included group.
Can I use the drag wand with the hose my machine came with?
No. Tornado states on the sheet that the 8 ft. vacuum and pressure hose, part# 95560, is required in order to use the optional tools. The hose that comes with the machine is part of the utility tool assembly 30744; 95560 is a separate high-performance hose. The factory does not say why the optional tools need it, only that they do, so order it with the wand rather than after it.
Is the transport handle kit a cleaning accessory?
No — it is the replacement handle the machine is carried and wheeled by, supplied as a kit with its mounting hardware and specified by Tornado as customer installed. It is on this sheet because it is something you add rather than a component that failed inside the machine.
Why does this page have no diagram?
Because the factory sheet it comes from is not an exploded view. The Tornado 98220 attachments sheet is a short table rather than a drawing, so there are no numbered callouts and nothing to click. That is not a gap — the table is the whole sheet, and what it tells you, which the text parts list does not, is which tool is included with the machine and which ones are optional.
