Which Strike sole and base parts wear out first?

The glide sole assembly (part# K41011240) and the sealing strip (part# K53650770) go first, because they are the parts actually riding on the floor. The brushroll (part# K47626443) and its scraper (part# K47755880) are next. The magnet and the base label rarely need attention unless something has been damaged.

My Strike has lost suction but the bag and filter are clean. What next?

Check the sealing strip along the glide sole — if it has hardened, torn or worn back, air leaks in at the edge of the head instead of being pulled through the carpet. After that check the bottom housing hose (part# K44410983) for splits, and the brushroll for a heavy wrap of hair.

What does the magnet on the Tornado Strike actually do?

It is the half of the machine’s position sensing that the sensor reads. It tells the electronics whether the Strike is parked upright or reclined for use, so the brush motor behaves correctly in each position. If the brush will not start when reclined, this and the parking position sensor are the two things to check.
