Connector Assembly w/Wires – 32207This is the solution-delivery side of the Tornado 98166 Marathon 800. The 115V 100 PSI pump (32180) draws from the bladder and pushes solution through the 120VAC 290 PSI solenoid valve kit (SW290-KIT), which is what opens and closes the spray when the operator presses the trigger. Around them is the nylon plumbing that routes it: the 3/8-inch quick-disconnect to 1/4-inch MPT fitting (32181), the 3/8-inch union tee (32182), the nylon elbow QD to 3/8-inch tube (32183) and three lengths of 3/8-inch O.D. hose — 36 inches (32192), 22 inches (32317) and 7-1/2 inches (32193). The connector assembly with wires (32207) carries power to the pump and valve, and the washer (11219) is the mounting hardware. The factory sheet draws callout 7, the nylon quick-disconnect connector (32186), on a second sheet, which is why it is missing from the sequence here. Frequently Asked Questions
My Tornado 98166 sprays weakly or not at all. Is the pump bad?
Not necessarily. Check the inline strainer (32178) on the tank sheet and the 3/8-inch hoses for kinks first, then the solenoid valve kit (SW290-KIT). A pump that runs but does not build pressure is usually starved by a blocked strainer; a pump that is silent when the switch is pressed is an electrical fault at the connector assembly (32207) or the control module.
How can I tell a failed solenoid valve from a failed pump?
Listen. If the pump motor runs and you hear no click from the solenoid valve kit (SW290-KIT) when the trigger is pressed, the valve or its wiring is the suspect. If the valve clicks but no solution reaches the spraybar, the pump (32180) or the supply side is at fault.
Why is callout 7 not on this page?
The Series F parts book splits the pump over two drawings. Callout 7, the nylon quick-disconnect connector (32186), is on Pump Assembly (View 2). Everything else in the pump section is on this page.
Is the 98166 pump the same as the pump on the larger Marathon machines?
The 98166 uses the 115V 100 PSI pump, part 32180. Do not assume a pump from another Marathon model interchanges — voltage and pressure ratings differ between machines in the family. Call us with your serial number if you are unsure.
