Find genuine Tornado 98169 Marathon 1200 chassis assembly replacement parts for Model 98169. The chassis is the structural frame everything else mounts to, and it is split across two drawings because a single sheet cannot show the frame and all its mounted hardware legibly. This first sheet shows the chassis tub with the running gear below it and the handle bar across the top, and it carries the hardware that mounts into the frame: the solution pump and its nylon quick-disconnect connector, the exhaust hose fitting, the axle retaining clamp, the shroud latch bracket and its spring, the motor protection sponge, and the washers, nuts and wing nut that hold them. Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 or stop by 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are the chassis parts split across two sheets?

Because the frame and everything mounted to it will not fit legibly on one exploded drawing, so the manufacturer divides them into part 1 and part 2. This sheet carries the frame-mounted hardware; the second carries the chassis, wheels and axle.

Why does the solution pump appear on a chassis sheet?

Because the pump physically mounts into the chassis, so it is called out on this drawing as well as on its own pump assembly sheet. It is the same part number in both places — order it once.

What does the motor protection sponge do?

It cushions and shields the motor within the chassis. It is an inexpensive wear item worth replacing whenever you have the chassis open, since a perished sponge stops protecting the motor it sits against.

Is the pump on this sheet the same as on the 115-volt machine?

No. The pump is one of the voltage-specific parts: this is the 230-volt pump for the 98169 and the 115-volt 98168 uses its own. The brackets, clamps and fasteners on this sheet are shared.
