Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite lightweight commercial upright vacuum, models 97130 and 97131

Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite Parts (Models 97130 and 97131)

Parts for the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite, the 13-inch single-motor lightweight commercial upright, built as model 97130 in 115V and model 97131 in 230V. Each section below carries the manufacturer’s own drawing with every callout marked, so you can click the part on the diagram instead of working backwards from a description.

It is a machine designed to be carried. Operators take it up stairs, between floors and around furniture all shift, which is why almost everything that wears on it is a consumable rather than a repair — bags, the foam filter, the belt and the brush roll account for most of what gets ordered. The heavier parts on the main assembly are there for the day something gets dropped, run over or pulled out of a socket by the cord.

Ordering and fitment

Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Every number on these pages is taken from the manufacturer’s own parts breakdown for the CK-LW 13/1 and matched to its callout on the drawing, so you are ordering the part the factory specifies rather than something that looks similar. Two numbers on the main assembly carry no published price and are marked call-for-price rather than estimated.

If you are not certain which of two similar numbers your machine takes — and on the motor, which carries a serial-number break, it genuinely matters — call 763-535-0770 with the model and serial from the plate and we will confirm it before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

The plate on my machine reads 97130. Am I in the right place?

Yes. This page covers the Tornado CK-LW 13/1 ProLite in both voltages: model 97130 is the 115V machine and model 97131 is the 230V one. The two share every part on these diagrams except the motor.

Is the CK-LW 13/1 the same machine as the CK LW 13/1 Roam?

No, and it is worth being clear about it. The Roam, models 97300 and 97300C, is the cordless machine in the same family. It shares some parts with the corded ProLite, the flat brushroll belt among them, but it is a different machine with its own breakdown. Check the part number against your own diagram rather than assuming a part crosses over.

How much does this machine share with the Powr-Flite PF62EC?

A great deal. The two are built on the same platform under different brands and share the great majority of their parts. Of the parts researched for the main assembly diagram, 32 are catalogued for the Powr-Flite as well. What is not shared is the livery: the yellow nozzle cover, its assembly, the nozzle label and the headlight parts are Tornado-only.

My machine is 230 volt. Which parts are different?

The motor, and only the motor. The 115V machine takes part D113-3300 and the 230V machine takes part 39725. Everything else on both diagrams is common to the pair.

What should I keep on the shelf for these machines?

The paper bags and the foam filter, by a distance – on a single-motor upright the airflow does the cleaning, so a choked bag or a blinded filter reads as a dying machine. After those, the flat belt and the brush roll, which are usually replaced together because fitting one means removing the other.
