Which Tornado Strike back-part components fail most often?
In practice: the filter cover seal (part# K47755820), the rear wheels and their axles, and the wiring sets. The fleece bags (part# K28893570) and HEPA cartridge (part# K28893420) are consumables and account for most orders from this assembly. The motherboard and the parking position sensor are the expensive items, and both are blamed far more often than they are actually at fault.
My Strike is dead with a fully charged battery. What should I check first?
Work outward from the pack, cheapest first. Check the battery contact connector (part# K40513683) for arcing or weak spring pressure, then the battery wiring set (part# K47755860), then the motor wiring set (part# K47755850). Those three account for most faults that present as a dead machine, and between them they cost a fraction of a motherboard (part# K46832563).
The brush will not spin but suction works. Is that the motherboard?
Usually not. The board only drives the brush motor when the parking position sensor says the machine is reclined, so check the sensor wiring (part# K66519020) and the magnet assembly in the base first, then the sensor itself (part# K41011190-R). The wiring is the cheapest of the three and a common cause.
