Wing Nut – 19301Chassis part 1 covers the hardware mounted onto the Tornado 98167 frame rather than the frame itself. The 100 P.S.I. 230-volt pump 32227 sits here on its motor protection sponge 32527, feeding the solution circuit through nylon connector 32186. Around it are the fasteners and small parts that hold the machine together and keep the brush shroud working: the axle retaining clamp 19144 that captures the axle, the shroud latch bracket 19239 that the latch closes against, screw 19205 and wing nut 19301, plus the spring 10841 that returns the latch. Recovery air leaves through the exhaust hose fitting 19260. The remaining line items — washers 03321, 11219, 12957, 19616 and 30075, nyloc nut 03868 and nut 16673 — are the specific sizes called out on the Tornado parts book for this machine, which is why they are listed individually instead of as generic hardware. Callout numbers on this sheet are not contiguous because the Tornado 98167 chassis shares one numbering scheme across two drawings. Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 or stop by 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428.

Tornado 98167 Chassis Assembly Parts – Frequently Asked Questions
What is the chassis assembly on the Tornado 98167?
The chassis is the welded frame that carries everything else on the machine — the tank, the brush shroud, the pump and the wheels all mount to it. Chassis part 1 lists the components bolted onto that frame, including the 100 P.S.I. 230-volt pump 32227 and the shroud latch hardware. The frame weldment itself, part 19241, is listed on chassis part 2.
Why are the chassis parts split across two diagrams?
The Tornado 98167 chassis is drawn on two sheets because one drawing cannot show both sides of the frame clearly. The two sheets share a single run of callout numbers, so this page shows 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 16, 20, 26, 27 and 31 through 38 while the rest appear on chassis part 2. Nothing is missing — the gaps in the numbering belong to the other sheet.
My Tornado 98167 is not spraying at all — could the pump 32227 be the problem?
It can be, but check the cheaper items first. Confirm the tank has solution, then check the inline strainer 32178 and the three spray nozzles X9139 for blockage. If the pump 32227 runs but builds no pressure, or is silent when the spray switch is pressed, suspect the pump or the solenoid valve 32228 on the pump assembly page. Note this is the 230-volt pump; the 120-volt version will not work on this machine.
What holds the brush shroud in position on the Tornado 98167?
The shroud pivots and latches against the shroud latch bracket 19239 on the chassis, with spring 10841 returning the latch and screw 19205 and wing nut 19301 securing it. The matching lever, clamp and cap are on the brush assembly page. If the shroud will not stay down, the bracket is usually bent or the spring has lost tension.
How do I order Tornado 98167 chassis parts or get help identifying one?
You can add any part on this page directly to your cart from its own product page, or call us at 763-535-0770. Our staff at 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428 has been servicing Tornado equipment since 1956 and can confirm the right part against your machine’s serial number before you buy.
The rest of the frame, the wheels and the recovery hoses are on chassis assembly part 2. The solution circuit that the pump 32227 feeds is detailed on the pump assembly page, and the items that wear out in normal use are collected on the Tornado 98167 service parts page. Tornado publishes machine documentation at tornadovac.com.
