Those four are the control panel assembly (30972), the chassis assembly (30975), the recovery tank assembly (30976) and the brush and spray assembly (30980), each of which is also broken out on its own sheet. Connecting them are two steel supported recovery hoses, the 1-1/2" x 42" with cuffs (31388) and the 1-1/2" x 64" with cuffs (18967), plus the nozzle hose adapter tube (19197) that the parts book lists to be ordered alongside the 20-inch nozzle. The shroud pivot bushing (19153) carries the brush head’s pivot, and the electrical odds and ends on this sheet are the ring terminal (15955), the male quick-disconnect terminal (19229) and the self-adhesive lead retaining clip (10428). Twin City Vacuum has been selling and servicing Tornado equipment since 1956. Call 763-535-0770 or stop by 5415 West Broadway, Crystal, MN 55428.

Frequently Asked Questions
Should I order a complete sub-assembly or the individual parts?
It depends on the damage. The control panel assembly (30972), chassis assembly (30975), recovery tank assembly (30976) and brush and spray assembly (30980) are complete units, which is the right call after impact damage or when several components in one area have failed. For a single switch, bearing or hose, the individual part from that section’s own page is far cheaper.
Which recovery hose does my 98166 need, the 42-inch or the 64-inch?
Both are used on the machine. The 1-1/2" x 42" steel supported hose with cuffs (31388) and the 1-1/2" x 64" with cuffs (18967) run between different points, so match the length to the hose you are replacing rather than ordering by diameter alone. The 64-inch hose is also listed on the machine’s Service Parts sheet as a wear item.
What is the shroud pivot bushing and why does it wear?
The shroud pivot bushing (19153) is the bearing surface the brush shroud pivots on every time the head is raised or dropped. It wears because it takes the whole weight of the head at a single point; a sloppy or noisy head drop is the usual symptom.
Why do some of these parts appear on other 98166 pages too?
Several numbers are shared across sheets — the 64-inch hose (18967) is on both this page and Service Parts, for example. That is normal: the factory lists a part wherever it appears in an assembly. There is still only one product page per part number on this site.
