Frequently Asked Questions

The brush has stopped turning but the motor runs. What broke?

The belt, in most cases. If the belt is intact, check the set screws in the brush pulley and the motor pulley — a loose set screw lets the pulley spin on its shaft and looks exactly like a slipping belt. Seized 608-2RS bearings are the third possibility and they announce themselves with noise first.

How do I know when the 17″ brush roller needs replacing?

Look at the bristle tips. When they are rounded, splayed or noticeably shorter than the row ends, the brush is no longer agitating — it is just dragging. A worn roller also lets the machine leave streaks that no amount of extra passes will clear.

One section of my spray bar is not spraying. Where is the blockage?

Usually the 95° nozzle and body itself, or the brass plug fitting at the end of the spraybar manifold. Pull and soak the jet before replacing it; if flow is still uneven with a clean jet, check the inline strainer on the tank diagram, since grit that gets past it lands here.

Why does my machine leave a wet stripe on one side?

That is nearly always the base plate shroud gasket or a worn bearing block letting the shroud sit unevenly. Check the gasket for a flat spot and the bearing blocks for play before assuming the vacuum motor is at fault.
